Costco or Sam's Club

Costco hot dogs are better.

First the pies…now this! What’s this world coming to? Is this the storage container for the Costco pies “flying off the shelves?”

We go to Costco for the gas and to get tires. We also buy stuff like toilet paper, paper towels, toothpaste and other stuff that we don’t want to worry about constantly having to buy.
There is only 1 Sam’s Club in our area, and it’s not convenient to us at all. Whereas there are about 5 Costco stores in our area that are much more convenient…If there was a convenient Sam’s Club near us, maybe we’d try it

whoops, wrong thread…

Moved to the correct place.

I thought this was a Costco and Sam’s Club thread? Am I confused?

I remember back in the day Price Club was the big warehouse club in our area…they’re all Costco now.

I’ve heard of people being members of both Sam’s Club and Costco…they say that each store is good for different thing…

No Sam’s Club here so I can’t compare quality between the two. I’m not a Walmart fan. I hope Sam’s Club treats the employees better. Costco has a good reputation as an employer.

I believe Costco treats its employees very well, including great insurance and other benefits. I have my doubts about how they treat Sam’s employees, especially as Sam’s is related to Walmart which encourages employees to get food stamps to supplement their wages. Around here’s, it’s very competitive to be hired by Costco and the workers tend to stay for a many years.

A new product to me at Costco that I give a thumbs up. Health Warrior instant oatmeal.

I like an oatmeal that has stuff in it - seeds, nuts, dried fruit, etc. Often I add my own. Obviously oatmeal from scratch can control more sugar, etc. but I like to keep these in my desk drawer at work. Once a week I bring in a jar with some milk and blueberries and add it to my instant bowl. Really like this this morning! Pretty clean ingredients as noted in the link. Not too bad on the sugar.

It was $12 something for 20 packets - the pack I got had 10 apple walnut and 10 maple cinnamon date.

It’s a keeper for me!

I tried the Sam’s Club hotdog on Saturday. It’s actually as good or better than Costco. Since Sam’s is 5 minutes from my house, I’m now a Sam’s Club convert. :flushed: I hope Costco doesn’t require an exit interview…

Not sure about now but in 2012 Costco’s minimum wage was $13/hour.

California’s minimum wage for fast food workers goes up to $20 in January. I wonder if the Costco food court is considered fast food.

For those interested in Costco membership…Groupon has a one year membership for $60, plus a $40 digital gift card…

Not at our Costco. I think it’s $14.50. I’m in PA

Pretty sure the pay is standard nationwide. It just got bumped to $18.50 a couple months ago.

Pretty sure a state can decide to implement a minimum higher than the federal mandate. I don’t think they can go lower, but I’m not sure.
