From 2022:
Federal Minimum Wage
The current federal minimum wage is $7.25 per hour.
$5.15 – Sep 01, 1997
$5.85 – July 24, 2007
$6.55 – July 24, 2008
$7.25 – July 24, 2009
We finally received (and found) the email with $30 credit for joining Costco with auto-renew. So we went and undid the auto-renew. It’s easy enough to just pay at the store (which we each in July at the handier Sam’s, after deciding it is still worthwhile)
Sorry, I didn’t mean the minimum wage was standard. I meant Costco pays the same no matter the state you live in.
I just bought my first Costco hot dog. My shopping cart (granny wagon) was super-full after first a trip to Trader Joe’s on the subway, then the subway to Costco, then home on the bus. Anyway, I was starving before I got on the bus to go home and it hit the spot. That and the $.25 bottle of water, what a meal for $1.88 including sales tax! That included a 20-oz refillable soft drink but I gave it to another customer because I am not a fan of the bubbly.
Oh my! I’ve been able to resist the Costco hotdog since joining 2 yrs ago…but I feel my resolve weakening.
I love the $.25 water, but at our stores the machines are at the front of the check out counters. I really wish they were as you walk in. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to walk all the way from the back of the store to get a bottle of water because I’m dying of thirst and none of the free samples are drinks. Okay, sometimes I use the bathroom while I’m up there. And maybe get a hot dog to eat while I shop.
Last week I did the hot dog / drink special and hubby got pizza slice. We split the drink. But next time I’ll let him get drink of his choice and buy a bottle of water.
Now that I’m on a keto diet, I can’t have the bun or the Pepsi. I can eat the hot dog, but it’s just not the same.
Haven’t had a Costco hotdog yet.
I will mention I’m hooked on the organic chunky guacamole cups. I bake two Trader Joe’s frozen hash browns (425-450F for 18 mins…I like it extra crispy) then spread the guac on them and top with a fried egg or two depending on my appetite. Delicious!…and easy.
I love our Costco. It is a drive (35 minutes) but then most things are for me. I usually go every three weeks but I am going tomorrow to get my dog’s Nexgard prescription filled. We love their vodka, wine and all sorts of things.
I love Costco, but darn-it…Sam’s is 5 minutes from our house! Curse practicality!
We stopped eating the costco hot dog deal when they switched from coke to Pepsi as th beverage . And I miss the chocolate soft serve. Not interested in the replacement Açaí
and I don’t drink pop…or do you say soda?
We say soda, but it’s more of loyalty issue where we live!!
S24 loves the new Costco food court chocolate chip cookie.
I think you need the metabolism of a 18 year old boy to eat one of those things - they are huge and served warm!
Oh Lordy I didn’t need to know about that cookie!
No cookies for me…I have to maintain my manly figure
I don’t drink carbonated beverages and when I get the hot dog, I give away the cup to someone behind me. It’s made for some happy shoppers.
A slight digression: Subway has a gigantic cookie or churro (a third item that slips my mind as well) for $2. Easy to avoid since I don’t go there, but there’s one in a storefront down the block from the independent pharmacy I patronize, and I see it in the window every time I walk by.
