Costs of privately owned housing?

how much more expensive than university residence hall…?

It depends on the privately owned housing option you choose. A standard double with 14 meals a week in the university residence halls costs $ 6,726.

The equivalent meal plan for a standard double at Bromley Hall costs 8,357.16. Keep in mind that at Bromley Hall you’re provided with a mini fridge and microwave. Plus, you get house keeping every other week.

A standard 2 bedroom with 4 occupants room with 13 meals a week at Illini Towers costs $8592.00. The rooms at Illini Towers are apartment-style, so you have a full kitchen and a private bathroom. You also get housekeeping at Illini Towers.

In general, privately owned housing will be around
1,500-2000 more than the university residence halls, depending on the specific room and meal plan you choose.

Each private housing option has a website that you can use to compare prices with the university residence halls.

I appreciate your detailed description! Thanks !

One more question :-)

it’s not late to sign up ISR now, is it…?

Well, ISR has a lot of returning residents because it’s so close to the main quad and engineering quad. Plus, upper classmen are given priority when applying to ISR. So you may have trouble getting in. But definitely put it down as your first choice anyways. If you find out that you don’t get in, then you need to send a form in the mail to request a room at ISR.

This webpage has the link to the form you would need to fill out:

http://www.housing.uiuc.edu/contact/faqs/index.asp?faq=contract#room_change</a></p>

The " Waitlist/Change Request Form" link will lead you to an Adobe document that you’d have to print and fill out to request a room at ISR based on space availability. There are no guarantees though.
