Could an admissions counselor help me get more money?

I need about $10,000 in order to go to one of the schools that I really like that I’ve been accepted to. My family has said that if I get $5,000 in scholarships or come up with the money somehow, they’ll pay the other half.

Someone recommended contacting my admissions counselor who might be able to help me connect with the financial aid/scholarship office to see if there’s anything else I could do to get more money to attend their school.

Could an admissions counselor actually help me with this or would I just be wasting my time?

Sometimes this strategy can work (more likely at a private school that really wants you). Often, it does not. The only way to know is to try … the worst they can do is say no.

Try to look for summer job and that may make the different
