I’m just a little shaken up after recieving a deferral letter from u of michigan today.
I have a 3.3 gpa with mostly honors classes. 5 AP classes total.
1950 SAT total, 1340 M/CR, 32 ACT
I’m asian/pacific islander
Competitive school OOS
Great EC’s
Good Essays
I recieved an AFROTC Scholarship, if it helps any.
I’m just hoping for a decent chance at the u of florida, cause i know my stats aren’t the greatest…especially my gpa.

btw, i forgot to mention that my 3.3 gpa is unweighted. will my honors and ap classes help much?

You need to recalculate your GPA for anyone to make a reasonable guess.

Use only your core classes, and for each honors class, add .5 points and each AP, add 1 point. Note that the average weighted GPA for Florida is about a 4.0.

Your SAT is right where you want it though. Good luck.

What does UF consider a core class. For instance, If honors chemistry is taken for science and honors anatomy an elective are they both core classes?

well my gpa is probably around a 3.8 weighted ![]()
O well, i’ll just have to pray for a miracle then.

He is excellent and will give you good advice with your chances. It is never to early to talk to a Det. about coming, since you have a scholarship already. You will start getting mail and phone calls from Dets all over the country.
