Could I manage at least 30 credit hours in a year?

I will be going to college next year and I am already planning on transferring to Georgia Tech who require at least 30 credit hours to be considered. The college I’m planning on attending allows students to take at least 34 hours per year. I don’t think I’m going to do that, though. Do you think I could manage 30 hours in a year while participating in college marching band, doing well in my classes, and joining a few student organizations? I really don’t mind sacrificing sleep. Right now I only get about 4 to 5 hours on weekdays and I do well, but I do know college is totally different.

At most schools, 15 credits per semester is considered normal/average. There are two semesters per year, so I don’t see why it would be a problem.

A) You need priorities. Life is too short to do everything.
B) 30 units in 1 yr is normal. Most colleges require 120 units to graduate. 120/4 (years) = 30. 30/2 (semesters per year) = 15. Like the poster above said that is a normal course load.

You should be able to do it. If not, your priorities and time management will need to be worked on.

30 hours is average.
