well, i got into BU and got rejected from usc. but could i go there for 1 year (or 1 semester if possible) and then transfer to usc or would i have to be in a community college to transfer??

any advice???

Of course. The only thing is that you want to make sure that classes you take at BU would transfer to satisfy USC’s requirements.

Sometimes 4 year colleges have different GE requirements, different enough to make it sometimes difficult to transfer classes between them. You would want to try to take classes that would both satisfy BU requirements (in case you choose to stay) and are transferable to USC

If you go to BU, you would need to try to work out a transfer agreement with USC so that you have an exact match of transferrable classes. Sorry to hear that you didn’t get into USC. However, I hear that BU is also an excellent school.

thanks guys. and to do that, should i just talk to both bu and usc offices of admissions?

Yes you can. My daughter’s friend was rejected from USC, her first choice, but was admitted to BU last year as a freshman. She spent her freshman year at BU and made friends, enjoyed her classes and professors but hated the cold weather in Boston. She reapplied to USC and was accepted as a sophomore admit in late July. She loves SC and does not regret her decision for one minute.

Look up BU and take similar classes.

It seems like there have been quite a few transfers.

I’ve been accepted into UC Irvine and BU. Is it easier to transfer from one or the other into USC?

I dunno, but I’d imagine that you’d want to go to the university that you’d be happy at anyway even if you don’t transfer to USC later.
