I’m going to be taking a gap year abroad, and unless I decide that it’s crazy, I’ll apply to colleges while taking that gap year. I plan on filling out most of my applications and writing most of the essays before I leave, but I want to write at least one (it may be more, depending on the supplements for different universities) about an experience I had during my gap year. I’m probably going to start a blog to document everything, but I’d rather not worry about a blog and writing college application essays if I don’t have to. Of course, I’d tweak it to make it sound more “essayish” (:p), but it would essentially be the same thing. Would this be a bad idea, since the blog would be out there for anybody to see? What if I wanted to link to the blog somewhere else in the application?
