Whoops, forgot to put I was vice-captain of the trinidad IMO team. :)

You surely stand a strong chance!!!
if not EA u will surely be in at regular i suppose!!!

You have a pliable chance, being a US citizen with internation experience I imagine will play in your favor, and it sounds like you have an interesting background. What is AS - General Paper. Is that from research? If you have research, I would say you have above a 50% chance. If not, but you’ve written very strong essays, I could imagine it being up near that 50% mark again.

g

No it’s not research, it’s a humanities subject based on argumentative writing. 2 essays with 600-800 words each in a 2 hour paper.

Let’s hope the coin they are flipping in the admissions office is entangled to give me heads. :)

whoa… you went to IMO. you’re in 90%.

whoa… you went to IMO. you’re in 90%.

Scroll down to TTB4.

I’m famous (more like infamous) because on the second day exam they had instructions on how to fill out the country code etc. and they used 76TTB4 (me) as an example. :)

Any more comments?

Not to be a prick, but he went to the IMO from Trinadad and Tobango. There is a difference in going from TTB and, say, the USA. You can tell this by looking at the scores of folks from the smaller countries and the larger ones. Clearly the competition to get in is much stiffer in somewhere like the USA, where everyone took gold medals. I stand by my around or somewhat below 50%, not 90%.

Galen

* where everyone took gold medals.*

I don’t think matt got gold.

Whatever, five gold and a silver. Same idea - the point remains.

g

Wow. But not being able to spell “Gandhi” worries me quite a bit.

Huh? …

Admitted. :)

Congrats…ha…my words werent worthless…
if you like to tell what did you fill in the rectangle in your app?

I am not applying to caltech, got really little chances but, that question still keeps me curious…

I will reveal that in time. It was really cool, though.

Hi amrik, congrats. M very happy for you. by the way, what did you put in the box. Just give me a general hint e.g a painting, math work, etc

Again. congrats.

It’s not a painting or a math work.
