Could this be interpreted as embellishing application? Help.

So I originally applied through the Common Ap back in September. I am a previous two-year member of the local FCCLA chapter (as a soph and junior) and at the time I composed my application, I intended to resume membership my senior year. Again, this was at the beginning of the school year so I put myself down as a 3-yr member (10th-12th grade). But I had scheduling conflicts with my dual credit courses, football, and my part-time job so I ended up not renewing after all. My football team ended up advancing the furthest it ever had in school history (state semis) and I’m now working roughly 20-25 hours/week.

It did not even occur to me until now that this could be viewed by college admissions as dishonesty. I did not put FCCLA as a high EC priority and just listed myself as a “general member”. But I still feel guilty about it. Will this be verified by the university? The organization is very large and I was not an officer, so I’m not sure the sponsor will remember the details of my prior involvement. Should I email the university with an update?

Don’t bother. It won’t make any difference. The information was accurate at the time that you submitted the application. If it ever came up - and it won’t - your explanation that you had a schedule conflict is sufficient justification for not pursuing it for another year.

Really. @N’sMom is correct. This is insignificant. Congrats on a great football season!
