Earth is a diverse world that serves us all the mutual purpose of bringing about inspiration and ideas, however the brilliance of each new cutting edge idea is incubated by the uniqueness and diversity of the person’s environment and spheres of influence. Every individual lives in a world that is dynamic in some form, but those who take risk and sought for innovation are the true explorers of the modern age. On a personal basis, my world is influenced by my family, friends, and the unique experiences of my lifestyle, which all inspire me to bring about change in an altruistic manner.
By definition, my world consisted of my parents, traveling, and school clubs, all of which taught me a profuse of new skills and morals. As a youth I spent most of my free time in my dad’s workshop where I would watch him work diligently into the night on his latest projects. Through watching my dad, I learned many life skills such as the importance of patience and persistence. Even before I was able to comprehend my surroundings, my life was being influenced by traveling to many different countries with my parents. At the age of two I had already traveled to many diverse locations such as Hawaii and Israel however this was just the beginning, and at the apex of my travels I had been to over 14 different countries. Traveling in my childhood to diverse locations aided me during my later years, during which I would sit in my dad’s basement workshop and wonder how I could change the world. After visiting Syria and later seeing on tv, how the rebels were outnumbered and used crude engineering to fight for what they believed in, I was inspired to be an engineer and innovate to help people in need. My interest for engineering was fueled further when I was taken to Florida and shown a live Space Shuttle launch, which showed me that almost anything was in fact achievable if one tried hard enough. Soon after returning back to school, I entered the TARC rocket challenge as team leader, and used all the skills I had acquired throughout my life to design and fly a rocket that met contest guidelines. For a course of 3 months, our team sacrificed to get our design in the air, and under my leadership the effort paid off, with us getting almost a perfect score. The contest was a major learning opportunity which taught me leadership and that persistence does pay off.
My world shaped me into who I am now and what I might become. My parents taught me hardworking, patience, tolerance, and persistence. Besides knowledge and skills, my school clubs taught me confidence, team spirit, creativeness, and friendliness. With the help of these qualities that I now possess, I will continue to pursue my dream and down the career pathway linking me and who I want to be.
