Counselor Gift Ideas?

Our daughter is blessed with a WONDERFUL Guidance Counselor who has been so amazingly helpful during college search. I am looking for good “graduation” thank you gift idea to get him…thank you!

Whatever you get him, the best addition to the gift would be writing a letter to be added to his file ( and CC’d to him) detailing in professional terms exactly why he is an asset to the school. These days we never know when any of us may be looking for a new job…

Yes, that is an excellent idea and I will definitely do that! Thank you for that great suggestion! :)

Don’t know how much you are thinking of spending but for $35, I got our GC some embossed stationery from
embossingstore.com.

It turned out really cool I thought (I got the small note cards with her name on it). And search on-line for coupon codes; there is usually one active. Should work for either sex, maybe just initials/monogram for a guy?

And then use your OWN stationery to write the thank you letter… unlike my DS who used one of the cards to her for his thanks. gahhhhh

I heartily second the idea of writing a letter to principal or superintendent about school counselor.

Along the lines of esobay, DD purchased a lovely pen from her college bookstore to “help write letters of recommendation.” Obviously, no one uses a pen, but the counselor really appreciated the gesture. Actually, she also bought one for the guidance secretary. Both women were really touched.

A year after DD graduated - I brought in a tray of bagel bites for the office. I thought they were going to fall over.

Another great idea thanks so much  Gosh never even thought of bringing in homemade snacks to the office, what a dandy idea!! :)

Our HS college counselor collects college pennants. It is traditional for students going to a college that isn’t represented already to buy her one. Her office walls are covered.

My son without prompting wrote a note with heartfelt thanks and I offered to buy a nice gift card to a popular restaurant not too far from the school.
