Countdown to June 2010 SAT Scores/Results Thread

1800
640 CR
590 M
570 W (I dont know why this is so low, I thought I did really well)

Also how are some of you guys viewing you essay scores, I cant see mine?

2300 (2350 superscore)

CR 700 (750 for superscore)
M 800
W 800
essay- 11

I knew I messed up on the reading section (hate that vocab), but I thought my essay was pretty bad this time. Guess not! I met my goal of in the 2300s! This test barely seems standardized for me though; I went up 80 in math and down 50 in reading without any sort of preparation/change.

@NETKING
Why shouldn’t I take them at the same time?
I’ll maybe retake the SAT IIs, go for Math I & II again. I’m sure I can score higher, but I really need to concentrate on SAT I now (1990 current score). The problem with SAT math for me is that it is quite different from the math in Sweden. Even though I’ve received the top grade on every math test through high school (best score in school on all national exams) and taken all math courses available to me I can’t (yet) seem to score better… Only 650 on the Reasoning math, so I really do have some work to do there

So my first time I got an 1820 (May 2010), and the test was the day after my Dad died. Like, I literally found out the night before, and went to the test in the morning. Needless to say my mind was all over the place and I could barely focus, so I was pretty psyched (and surprised) when I found out my score. It’s not the best score in the world, sure, and it clearly doesn’t represent my full potential, but given the circumstances, it’s a pretty *****in’ score.

This time I got a 1960, which is kick-ass but I know I can still do MUCH better. Like, I know my potential stands somewhere in the 2200-2300’s. If anything, I’m most psyched about the improvement of 140 points off the span of a month between the two tests sans any preparation (family stuff concerning my Dad’s passing hindered any attempt of mine to prepare).

I went from:

CR: 580
M: 610
W: 630
Essay: 7
Total: 1820

To:

CR: 640
M: 630
W: 690
Essay: 8
Total: 1960

… In a month. Way above average for a month-to-month score improvement I think. However, I do plan on retaking in October or November, depending on several factors. I’m shooting for a 2100+ this time. Which bring up the question:

Do colleges care if you’ve taken the SAT’s 3 or more times?

Went up from a 2140 to a 2360 in a single sitting. 800 v 770 math 790 writing

It’s funny though…I got an 8 on the essay and still a 790 writing. I don’t see how that works :P

January: CR-650/M-680/W-670 Essay-10------2000

June: CR-680/M-720/W-760 Essay 12---------2160

How is this?

Hello… I am a new member here… I’m afraid I’m the only Indonesian student who joined this forum…
So, I took the June SAT and the score is far from what I expected:

Math 660
CR 610
Writing 610
Essay 7
MC 64

I am an eleventh grader…
What do u think of these scores???

I tried to view the full report form of my SAT but the College Board says: “Sorry, this page is temporarily unavailable.”
Anybody got any idea of this??

In fact I cannot sign in

@ OneArmedScissor: My deepest condolences. I cannot imagine how hard it must be to lose a family member… your scores are excellent considering those circumstances. You did a lot better than I would have :stuck_out_tongue: And to answer your last question, no, they do not. I took the SAT 3 times, and know of plenty of other CC members who have also taken it 3 times. I think that as long as you can show improvement from one score to the next, you’ll be fine.

OneArmedScissor,

They most definitely do not mind. Especially in a situation like yours. You might even want to explain why your score was lacking a bit the first time you took the exam. (potential essay topic?)

I’m very sorry to hear about your loss. I wish your family the best.

Can’t we know which writing section was experimental???
