***Countdown to June SAT 2011 Results***

How did you increase your SAT by 300 points? I mean what books did you use because I am taking the October one and I really want to raise my SAT up 300 points
Math is 620
Writing is 510 (I know I need practice)
CR is 480 (I hate it and I have no idea what am I supposed to do about it)
I really need some advise.

@BananElsherif

I increased 200 points: 760M 690CR 690W (2140 total) to 800M 800R 740W (2340) from December to June. Some tests are just better suited to you or easier than the others. My best advice is to do lots of practice and figure out your errors (and possibly memorize a few vocab words). The Official SAT Study Guide by Collegeboard is by far the best. It should be the only one you need :P

I’m disappointed. I expected better. I don’t want to take it again. I don’t want to waste time and money taking it again just to be disappointed.

January: 2020
CR: 730
M: 640
W: 650 (9 essay)

June: 2050
CR: 690
M: 680
W: 680 (9 essay)

I had a feeling that I’d do worse in CR, but I was almost completely positive that my essay was much better. I guess I was wrong. I should have done better in Math. It’s never hard, I just make reading mistakes. I should read more carefully.

780 SAT II Literature

Happy with my scores, went up at least somewhat in every category. Not a huge jump numerically, but 2300 was an important threshold for me.

March: 2260
CR: 780
M: 720
W: 760

June: 2340
CR: 800
M: 740
W:800

i went from a 1950 in january to a 2160 now… and i didnt study anything until the day b4 the test… its just that the first time i got way below what i should have in math… .my math first time was 630 and this time 760

W: 740
M: 710
Cr: 650 (went down sixty points from my first try)

Can anyone tell me what the best prep book is for math?

March SAT:
CR 620
M 670
W 690
Score 1980

June SAT:
CR 600
M 710
W 710
Score 2020

Superscore 2040

I’m really happy about math and writing, because they really show where my strengths are. And a 2040 superscore is solid (yet average) score. However, I don’t know what to do about CR. Part of me would be the happiest kid on the planet if I never took the SAT again, especially during college app season, but I really want to go to a small liberal arts college (first choice is Barnard, will be applying ED), most of which consider a 620 to be low. What should I do? To retake or not to retake…

Sunlit, I would retake once more…during senior year, scores tend to go up without any extra prep because u are a matured student through your new classes, so yeah it wouldnt hurt to retake and break 2100.

March SAT:
CR: 710
M: 760
W: 710
Score: 2180

June SAT:
CR: 750
M: 720
W: 780
Score: 2250

Superscore: 2290

I am so done with the SAT and all of this standardized testing for the rest of my high school life!! (I mean, I was planning on being done anyway after this SAT but I’m happy, content and just done!) : )

Is it possible to have gotten a 720 on Math? My friend said he got a 720 on the Math and he’s been putting me down because I got a 710. Also, he’s been known to lie about test scores. So did anyone else get a 720? Or is that not a possible score?

^the guy above you did.

Skorpius, how did you do?

And haha, I didn’t see that while I was typing. Thanks.

wow…how did i double post o.o

I went up from my March Scores!

March 2011:
Critical Reading - 630
Math - 800
Writing - 670 (Essay 10)

June 2011:
Critical Reading - 710
Math - 800
Writing - 680 (Essay 8)

I met my goals of 700+ CR and double 800 math! :)

Critical Reading - 670
Math - 800
Writing - 800 (12 Essay)
Composite - 2270

WHAT?!?!?! I studied so hard for the Critical Reading and was expecting like a 740 :frowning: Based on the consolidated answers, I only got like 4-5 wrong and all the vocab correct. Those answers must have been wrong or I made some terrible mistakes in bubbling. Very happy with Math and Writing, hopefully when I retake I can get at least a 740 on the Critical Reading for a 2340 superscore. I just need to figure out how to study this summer.

Math:780
CR:770
Writing:800

Missed one math, and probably three reading. Most tests -2 CR = 800. I was two questions away from 2400! Guess I can live with 2350 :)
