Countertop Ice Makers

DIL put one of these on her Christmas list. The ones she listed are on Amazon and run a little over $100.

I’m wondering if they are worthwhile? They have a nice enough refrigerator but no ice machine (or doesn’t work I’m not sure). I have seen more expensive ones - like triple that amount - but I wouldn’t be looking to spend that much nor would they want me to.

Anyone have experience with countertop ice makers in general or a certain model?

I don’t have experience with these, but I’ve looked into them. The reason I didn’t buy one is because they don’t have refrigeration. In other words, once the ice is made, you have to use it or it melts. If you keep it on, then it cycles ice-melt-ice. The doesn’t work for me but might be okay for your D’s purposes.
