I got my letter in NJ today! Absolutely loved the envelope!

I called the admissions office and they said Honors decisions will be received in January. I doubt Honors is going to happen for me, since they take so few people, so I’m hoping for Capstone. :)

their twitter said: Early answer decisions are sent out the week of the 14th. Some did go out on the 11th. Regular answers will go out March 15. and All of our letters are hitting the mail throughout this week, if you met the October 15th app deadline.

I don’t how they are mailing them out, but I guess we’ll just have to wait.

I am in PA and I have not received my letter either as of yesterday (haven’t received mail yet today). I emailed admissions yesterday just to make sure I should be expecting a letter. I received an email back saying I would get a letter in the next couple of days. So, I don’t think you guys need to worry they should be coming soon.

As I recall, notification of merit awards came out in mid to late February and Capstone was either a few days before or a few day after. D is a senior now so I’m a little hazy on the time line but it was definitely in that time frame.

D is officially finished with classes having taken her last final on Saturday. She will be doing the second required internship for her major which be a full time during the Spring semester and will graduate in May. She got home Saturday night, rested Sunday and started working to complete her Law school applications on Monday.

I know my SATs are in the mid range compared to what was accepted in the past. So, I am not in the highest range of students who get accepted. I received a letter today that says although I applied to find out early, they only sent acceptance letters to those students who were in the highest range, and I will not get my decision until March. Does anyone know if there is still a chance of being accepted? How much lower are the odds?

If your SATs are mid range you still have a great chance. One of my best friends got that letter as well, and she is our Student Body VP and SIC student chair. Her test scores just werent above average. Like the letter says, they only send early acceptance letters to people in the highest range so you should be fine.

My letter says “rest assured, it is a very normal part of the University’s admissions process”. So from that I was guessing that it wasn’t the first year they have ever done this.

I just checked the admissions page, and it doesn’t say anything about the basis upon which they give applicants a decision of acceptance during the early answer phase.

“While we are currently sending acceptance letters to students who meet our highest level of admissions criteria, we are delaying decisions on the majority of applicants until Final Decision Week in March. Rest assured, this delay is a very normal part of the University’s admissions process.”
