mainly for the UC app right now…

I want to talk about my siblings effect on me. Is fitting 3 siblings in 500 words too hard?

I want to talk about hows sports have impacted me. Not really about how I did them, but how they connect me to other people and how they promote learning in other fields. (I was going to discuss my internship in a sports medicine clinic and football concussion research). Is this too cliche?

It may be difficult to have a full thought on three siblings in only 500 words. I’m not saying that it is impossible, but it will be difficult!

Don’t worry about your essay being cliche. If you write it personally and meaningfully so that it represent you and your story, then it won’t be cliche. If you include your own personal experiences, then the essay will represent you. Though the theme may be common, you can still make the essay your own. Admissions officers understand that these themes are common because they are very personal and allow for reflection, so just make sure that you do that! If the essay is generic, then it will seem cliche; however, if the essay is really personal and reflective, admissions officers will like it!

Those are my thoughts. I hope that they are helpful, but please remember that these are just my thoughts and opinions.
