Course Credits/ What is one course worth, credit wise

Hi!

I’m in the process of applying to SLC as an international transfer student but i am confused about the credit transfer policy.

1) A minimum of 30 credits can be transferred but what is one course at SLC worth?
2) Are there any transfer students that have been accepted not having fulfilled the minimum transfer credit requirement?

All the best

Generally 1 semester long course is worth 3 credits if taken at another university. This changes on a case by case basis, especially when transfering credit from Europe. There it depends on which system you received the credit under. The new standardized EU system translates to 4.5 credits per semester class. At SLC each class is generally worth 5 credits, the extra 2 credits being attributed to Conference work (the additional meetings and research you do one on one, with the professor and the resulting research paper.).
