Course Difficulty

OK, I’m interested chem/biomolecular engineering, bioengineering, biomedical science, and computer/cognitive science.

My question is … how hard are CBE 160 (chem/bio engineering), BE 100 (bioengineering), and CIS 110 (intro to programming)?

(I’m asking this mainly because my interviewer was a CBE major and told me a nice story about how she ended up w/ a ~2.5 GPA her freshman year at penn, mainly due to the engineering courses …)

engineering courses can be tough. those three are the first-level classes, and can often be harder than usual because they’re trying to weed out those without genuine interest. the first year of college is a big transition for many people, and it may be the first time many people see difficult classes
