Course Mastery

Do most universities allow for students to skip/test out of courses or are the credits mandatory? How many courses can you test out of?

It completely depends on the school. Some will let students skip courses by passing a test or taking the related AP or IB exam, while some require the course still. Some offer credit, while some just offer placement. You need to examine the policies of the individual schools you’re looking at.

Is it possible to bypass humanities by testing out? I feel like this is generally not allowed, can you shed some light?

Depends on the school. Ask them.

If you took the AP test and got above x score, some schools will let you opt out of the intro classes.

Some people also take the CLEP test (which is how the Duggar kids are getting through college), but you’ll have to ask your school (which you should do anyway).
