I wouldn’t worry as much about taking 3 AP courses, as I would worry about your overall load of six courses. In any case, you will need to exercise great discipline in using your time wisely.

Have you received the placement tests yet? Those tests should help you, and the school, find the right level in each course. It’s best to speak with the Dean of Studies, or your advisor, when you know who that will be, about the course load.

Your course choices are not set in stone at this point.

Ok. So AP US is not awful and I had friends in AP Spanish who told me it wasn’t too terrible. AP physics I’m not sure about… But photography will be awesome. I love love love love Ms. Belt. She was my ceramics teacher and she is just awesome. I really really wanted to take photography, but I couldn’t due to having to take another class…

It will be tough, but you will definitely be able to survive. A positive is that your spring will be pretty nice once the AP exams are over.

Let me know if you have questions about any teachers =)

And, napviet, I’m kin of wondering that too :)

And thanks for all of those that posted. I think I’m gonna take AP Physics out and instead take Chemistry but then next year I would take AP Physics, along with AP European History, AP Art History, AP English Literature, and AP Spanish Literature unless…would 5 be too much? Cause, I can always change my schedule :)

ap chem is brutal i’ve heard, but the kids who are in it generally do pretty well…
5 might be crazy your senior year, but i don’t know you and what you’re capable of so go for it if you think you can handle it.

Ohhh, okk. That’s cool. Well…do you think it would be better if I switch AP Art History and do it next year and then do Photography 1 and the religion course my senior year instead?

Ohhhh, and I meant regular Chemistry, not AP Chem.

Hey Josh did you take the pre-AP to all the AP courses that you picked? To the person that asked how many AP’s you need to get into an IVY i know people who have gotten in with 2-3, and i know people who have done 9 and got 300,000 dollar scholarships to Columbia! I know someone else who did 2 and got into Stanford.
