course scheduling problem.. whats best for college admission

I pitted in a scheduling problem. Which classes are best for a student applying for colleges like Johns Hopkins, northwestern, or ivy leagues for a premed program.

Heres whats going on… I could take either college english or AP english. Taking AP english would conflict with many classes.

I could take French 4 but that would conflict with many classes such as college chem and college english classes.

Or… I could drop Symphonic Strings (highest strings group, we state compete, and i’m projected as concertmaster) and be able to prolly take my classes.

In simpler term, order these classes from most important to least important. The classes are: College Chem, College English, AP English, Psychology I/II, Symphonic Strings, Adv. Physics

And yes, these are as hard of classes as my school offers. We barely have any AP courses and I think we only have AP english, and AP Calc.

One more question that would probably be a surefire decision: Should I take Psychology I/II or Adv. Physics in terms of college admission

Please reply. Thanks.

If you are taking AP English you don’t need to take College English. I would say that you shouldn’t drop symphonic strings or adv physics if possible. psych isn’t necessary, so I would take French 4 instead unless you hate French and love psych.

Science preparation is SO important to be a successful pre-med. I would try to keep them if at all possible.
Also, I would definitely keep symphonic strings because concertmaster would help out your application.

well i wanted french 4 but theres a schedule contract between that and psychology or adv physics. From what I was told from my counselor I really have one big decision to make:

Psychology I/II or Adv. Physic (my school doesn’t have AP physics)

My advice to you: take what you want to take. No matter what youll have APs and college classes so it will look good. You’re the one whos gonna be stuck in the classes for a year, no one on CC can tell you what you want, take the classes you want to take.
