course selection?

in my country, we don’t have sth like course choice. your only choice is between profiles, for example i’m on math-physics profile, what means i’have more hours and therefore more material (extended level) of these subjects.

so my course list is like this

3rd year
math
physics
chemistry
polish
english
german
social science
computer science
religion
p.e. (hey, it’s still 3h/week of my life!)
history

2nd and 1y
the same
+biology
+geography
+how to name it? defensive knowledge? sth about first aid, wars, army equipement…
+economy

so is it impressive courseload for school like columbia or you in u.s have sth like that too?

wat’s sth???

I mean, how many courses do you usually take per year? If I could choose, I won’t take biology, geography, and other stuff I feel I don’t need…

Uh we normally take around 6 courses per year…it really depends on your specific high school.

and i’m guessing “sth” is something. Not exactly sure…

oh yes it’s something. I didn’t know you don’t use it… So sth is probably used only in dictionaries, or on english language lessons :P
