<p>hey what did u all write for the essay question?</p>
<p>I was against having a court of peers on two grounds:</p>
<ol>
<li><p>It would put an unecessary burden on the students on the court who would be asked to pass judgement on friend and foe alike without allowing personal feelings or past experiences influence their decision.</p></li>
<li><p>Students who were rulebreakers would not respect a court of peers any more than they would respect their teachers. It’s easy to say that your peers are wrong because they have the same amount of experience with life as you do. Therefore the students who are troublemakers will continue to be troublemakers, and rather than fear consequences they will simply despise those in charge of handing out the detention slips.</p></li>
</ol>
<p>Honestly, though, I wasn’t too terribly happy with my essay, because I felt that I didn’t have as strong of a case as I did with the essay I wrote for the SAT two weeks ago (or whenever it was). I didn’t have any specific examples because I’ve never been involved with and I don’t know anyone whose school has a court of peers.</p>
<p>i just wrote that we shouldnt have a court of peers…but i dont want to tell anyone what i wrote because they were good reasons and i dont want anyone to steal my ideas. go me.</p>

<p>no, everybody took it already. i’ve been back home for at least an hour and i’m on the west coast.</p>
<p>Yeah, if there were people who hadn’t taken it yet, we wouldn’t be allowed to post about the test… Someone at CC would have noticed and deleted them.</p>

<p>Haha… I don’t think anyone was planning on yelling at you. Honestly… It’s not like we can go back and change our essay now. It’s a little late for that. :)</p>
<p>In Arkansas the ACT testing was delayed a week because of snow.</p>
<p>Do they use the same test?</p>
<p>No, different day = different test… It would be too easy for kids to cheat if they used the same test ;)</p>
