Cozy Bathrobe Recommenations

My DIL has listed a “cozy bathrobe” on her Christmas list. I’d appreciate any first hand recommendations from this illustrious group!

I have an UGGS bathrobe. It was pricey but it is very cozy and warm.

Everything from Barefoot Dreams is cozy and they make a nice robe. Nordstrom carries them as well in some different colors.

When I couldn’t find the right size Barefoot Dreams for my daughter in law I bought her the UGGS robe.

I bought this last winter and love it! So cozy!

Costco has surprisingly nice push robes:

And this is my new favorite:

Sooo soft.

It would be nice to know if she likes short or long, but since winter I suppose you can assume long.

Not sure it matters to the DIL, but I prefer robes (and actually all clothing) that has pockets. That makes me less likely to loose the dang cellphone when I head downstairs for breakfast.

Wow @BunsenBurner those robes are a great price! I actually for myself would never wear a “tie” robe - hate any tie around my waist. But the loose hoody robe I would consider!

I think for many people short vs long is an important consideration.

Also what fabric and how do they use them. I like a robe after a shower so I really just like terry cloth that is absorbent. I dislike fleece or anything that’s not since I don’t really wear one to lounge in.

I’m always cold and prefer one that zips because I don’t like the way the tie ones open at the top. Mine is an older version of this but with a hood. It comes in petite and tall lengths, too.

Yes, I would check with your DIL re: more details - lots of 20 somethings are into the thinner silky lounging robes (ala Chrissy Tiegen  ) - “Cozy” doesn’t sound like this type but you never know!

I second the suggestion of the L L Bean plush robe.

Maybe you could make your best choice at Kohls (or whatever store is convenient to you both) and include gift receipt for return. Hmmm… during covid era, there might be more challenge for all of us to get good match gifts.

I agree that it’s good to ask the intended recipient a few Qs so it is something she will use. Too heavy (especially in warmer areas) can make it undesirable, as can too light in cooler climates.

When D was convalescing from wisdom teeth extractions, I made a quick stop at Macy’s and found her an adorable light robe that was just the weight she liked and it fit and was under $20 on clearance. Some folks love fleece, some love terrycloth, some waffleweave.

I got my son’s GF a Barefoot Dreams robe from Nordstrom for this coming Christmas. It’s a zip front. I love my Barefoot Dreams robe, but it has a belt and not the zip front.
Last year I got her a small Barefoot Dreams blanket (for lounging on the sofa, etc., not big enough for the bed) and she LOVES it.
When I asked my son what other suggestions he had, he said he couldn’t think of anything more perfect than that for her. She’s 23 if that matters.

Both our millennial daughter and I LOVE the Supima cotton robes from LandsEnd.
So silky soft and lightweight. Great for summer.

Ditto the Ugg rec. I received one for Christmas last year and love it. Cozy, comfy, washes well.

Not sure of your price point but - I’ve always dreamt of a cashmere robe but they’re too expensive for me so I keep dreaming.

My DD has tried a few times to “appropriate” my UGGS robe. That would be a big NO.

I would try to find out the use. We wear robes here to keep warm. I like the 3/4 length because it’s less cumbersome but keeps me warm when I’m sitting around.

FYI robe shoppers - Bare Necessities sent out a 30% off offer. Good on many things. I even got some Hanro stuff on sale.

My D and I were each gifted those (tie) robes from Costco - we love them. They’re super comfy and cozy, and not heavy to wear. I personally love my waffle weave robe, but it’s not warm, just comfy, and it’s midcalf, with pockets. I wouldn’t be able to wear a hoodie type robe as I have always been someone whose body temperature changes from moment to moment, I can’t even wear a pullover sweatshirt, for me, I need to be able to shift the temperature frequently.
