Cr help!

Can anyone give me advice for the critical reading section? On my practice tests, I can't seem to get above a 600. I usually get around 540s-590s.
Do you know any good prep books?
All the advice would be appreciated.

First, read the questions before the passages (long passages only). Then, look for line references in the questions. Mark up your passage (put a bracket or something along the appropriate lines) using line references found from the questions. Then read the passage. Every time you hit a bracket, you will know it is a question. So go and answer the question then come back to the passage and continue. For the questions that don't have any line refs, answer them at the end. Also, realize that every question's answer IS IN THE PASSAGE. If an answer you pick is not COMPLETELY supported by the passage, it is wrong. Certain answers may "look" and "feel" right, but it is up to you to play devil's advocate and ask yourself if each answer is supported in the passage. Also, memorize all the words in the Direct Hits Volumes 1 and 2. These strategies helped me break 600. Good luck!

Hey firered786, with these strategies, what did you end up getting on CR? If you don't mind me asking :)
