<p>in lines 71-75 the narrator describes members of the new modern generation as the “true pioneer” because they:</p>

D live in a violent and uncertain world
E regard life as no previous generation has done</p>
<p>The answer is D. But I can’t figure out why!

The author indicates that those people who are not living within traditional sweep home have no sentiments, no baggage ( I think this is a metaphor of culture burden). They darted to the outside world and breath the mixed air (some are polluted).</p>
<p>Here the author is indicating the pioneers are pretty much free and do not prefer sweet home. Instead, they prefer a challenging world, even the polluted one.</p>
<p>So contrast to those traditional sweet home lover, they live in a different yet quite challenging world.</p>
