craziest admission story

so lets hear it the craziest admissions story low gpa low sat w/e defines crazy to you and still got accepted (i saw this on another college so i decided lets try it at gtown) btw low gpa is not a 3.9 nor is a low sat 2200

This isn’t very crazy but I was accepted early with an 1860 SAT. Surprised me alright.

Surprising…

I had a 1940…but then again I do have minority status, strong eccs, and a high gpa…

But the 1800s are pretty low, especially for Early Admission.

-Deion S.

1910 SAT… but I’m intl…dunno if that was an advantage or disadvantage

i got a 2000…but my gpa is really high (and at a competitive international school high school, taking the IB diploma too), had strong recs and extra-curriculars and did a lot of community service. snerry, it doesnt matter if ur international if you studied at an american/intl school for most of your high school :P

1950 SAT 1,
Sat 2’s
Math I: 700
Lit : 680
Japanese: 500 :S

had really strong recs though, and high GPA. Essay’s were decent. Im from New Zealand though so thats something different…

did you people with lower SAT’s from international places ask for financial aid?

well im not from the US, but im a greencard holder

so yes i did ask for financial aid.

plus, i just realised my SAT scores were higher

Sat1 -2050

nope, i didnt apply for financial aid.

just curious, do any of u intels know if georgetown gives f-aid to international transfers? been asking the admission office for ages and they just won’t/can’t give me a straight answer-

I got deferred early but accepted regular at SFS with 1930 SATI, but I come from France. My teacher recommendation letters weren’t great but my essays and my college counselor’s recommendation were excellent…
I didn’t ask for financial aid eventhough I could have since I have U.S. citizenship. International students can get financial aid, but the amount they offer is very limited as opposed to what they will give to U.S. students…

yeah i think they only gave out 5 scholarship grants or something this year to international freshmen. Not sure about transfers but i would imagine it would be along the same lines

I’ve always found it difficult to understand how people seem to be able to grade their own essays as “excellent” with nothing to base it on. Oh well.

perhaps they got second opinions?

thanks one2! guess I’ll just have to wait and pray they admit me and give me aid-

1990 SAT

my interviewer was so psyched that i played a blue electric violin and talked an hour with me about my band and music haha. so i sent them a picture of me playing it :-P

LOL I got in with only a 1810 on the SAT…then my extracurricular activities are world class…

did aynone get in below a 2000 thats not a minority?

Anyone with a high SAT, low GPA?
