Have you ever entered? Is this wellknown? Does it accept everyone? Is it one of those whos who things?
Is it worth mentioning on apps?

I entered several of their contests as part of a requirement for a high school class. Everyone had to enter their writing into three different contests, and a large number of them entered ones by this outfit.

About 20% of our class ended up published by this company, though no one actually won a monetary award. That said, the publisher did send a free copy of the book to my school.

Are you likely to win any money? I doubt it. Does it take anyone with a a pulse like Who’s Who? No. Is it worth mentioning on apps? Depends. If you have space available, it can’t hurt to mention it. I did on mine.

Hope this helps.

Cool. Thanks for telling me!
Some people in Parent Cafe think its a scam, and others don’t…
Haha who knows. IMO I dont think its a scam , its just a lower level contest ^^;; lol

Oh man I just researched it a bit further:

Part of the “Contests to Always Avoid” list

The previous post lists Creative Communication on a list of “scam” poetry contest sites that is listed by winningwriters.com. However, if you go to the link provided by winning writers, they do not have Creative Communication listed at all as a scam contest. Winning writers checks out each internet contest and concluded that Creative Communication does not belong on that list. Check out the link given above and you will NOT find them on the list as the post states states.
As the editor at Creative Communication, I am proud of the role that we play in motivating young writers. Most students who enter are not accepted to be published and thousands of free books are give out each year to schools and young poets. If you are looking for an outlet as a professional writer, then we are not that source. If you are looking for a place to share your poetry with others and know that if you are accepted to be published your poem was better than 55% of the other poems that were entered in the contest, then we welcome your entry. We believe in being totally transparent and welcome any questions. Tom Worthen, Ph.D. 435-713-4411.

So, Mr. Worthen. You felt the need to create a new account and bump a thread that’s been dead since 05 because? O_O
