Credit Card Dispute

You are exactly right. Theives abuse the chargeback system.

I used the chargeback system for what it is supposed to be used for. I filed a chargeback because I didn’t receive the computer.

BUT when you DID receive the computer you did NOT reverse the chargeback.

You are a common thief. Period.

You have abused the chargeback system.

To hell with telling the computer company you received the computer, TELL THE CREDIT CARD COMPANY! YOU OWE THE MONEY TO THE CREDIT CARD COMPANY!

Why can’t you get this?

I’d just love to see the tax forms your parents turn in every year if they’re ok with this nonsense, which I sincerely doubt.

I can see it now. When the computer company eventually contacts the OP, he will say it has been “too long” so he gets to keep the computer.

No, you don’t get it. Absuing the chargeback system would be me saying that I never received the computer (when I did recieve it).

I did not do that.

“I can see it now. When the computer company eventually contacts the OP, he will say it has been “too long” so he gets to keep the computer.”

Well, you are completely wrong. I have said many times before that if the computer company contacted me, I would ahve glady worked with them and returned the computer to them. They never contatced me about the chargeback.

This is the e-mail that I got from the credit company after they granted my claim. They never mentioned that it was my responsibility to contact them. They clearly state that it is up to the merchant to contact them.

“We are writing in response to your most recent inquiry regarding your account listed below. We have investigated your dispute for the charge mentioned above. We have resolved this dispute and issued a credit to your account for the amount of the charge. You will see this on your next monthly statement. If the merchant’s bank sends us evidence that the charge is valid, we may re-bill your account and notify you of
our resolution.”

this thread cracks me up-
outside of your home environment football, which explains a lot, I haven’t read a single response that indicates agreement with your decision to revoke your commitment to pay without canceling your order.

Why do you think that is?

“outside of your home environment football, which explains a lot”

What is that supposed to mean?

I have already said many times before that I would return the computer to the company if they contact me.

But now it’s used, and cannot be resold as new. Pay up.

"“outside of your home environment football, which explains a lot”

What is that supposed to mean?"

LOL. Sorry. Early on in this thread I submitted my opinion, that shared by everyone else except for the OP. Kept checking thread, eventually wondered if this was some joke perpetuated by OP just to see how much time could be wasted by continually repeating the same nonsensical reasoning. Now I understand. OP, years ago one of the girls in my Girl Scout troop gave me countless “reasons” to justify her cheating in class. Finally, I couldn’t listen any more and told her she has a character flaw. When she asked me what I meant, I told her to discuss the situation with her parents and have them call me if they couldn’t explain it to her. I never heard from them. OP, you too have a character flaw and apparently your parents are not able to explain that to you based on what I’ve read. That is a shame. Now, I am resolving to never read another post on this thread and I hope every other cc member does the same.

I think too much energy is being spent on this “conversation” - a quick bit of research unveils one of two things, either this poster is a ■■■■■ or this kid has no ethics (I vote for both, this unethical kid is a ■■■■■).

Having only ever posted 2 questions; this one (about stealing a computer and seeing nothing wrong with it), which was posted under 2 different forums, and the first one ever, dated Sept 23rd. This is that post:
Would you consider this cheating?
One of my classmates gave me a copy of a test that was used by the professor the prior semester. Since it is not a multiple choice exam, there are no answers and I only looked at the questions.

Would you consider it cheating if I studied for the exam by answering and studying the questions from the prior exam?

I stand by my findings, this unethical kid is a ■■■■■…in more ways than one.

I’ve been wondering the same thing, "just"aMom – what’s the real story behind this post? Is football using this forum to conduct some sort of “experiment?”

So, what’s the deal, OP? Exactly why did you post this? To gloat? To see what the responses are? To gather data for a paper for your ethics class?

Good catch CBBBlinker!
A quick perusal of the OP’s threads (OP joined CC almost 2 mos ago-- isnt that relatively early in a college semester-- about when a research project might have been assigned?) reveals that, with the exception of the “my hotmail account isnt working” thread, the other threads seem to be about ethical issues. Many of the questions posted to the OP are ducked, and the same mundane statements (“facts”) about the computer, or about reading an old test from a professor, are repeated ad nauseum. I was going to explain to the OP that the quote he posted in # 166 is a standard message from his credit card co, and not personalized to him (her?) but I am sure he/she knows that and its just part of this game.
Again-- good catch CBBBlinker. How’d we score on your ethics project, football100 ???

*** An afterthought-- maybe his “my hotmail account isnt working” thread is part of this whole ruse. Perhaps the OP expected someone to say that maybe the computer vendor DID in fact try to contact him back, through his non-working hotmail account, so the vendor did in fact try to confirm that he received his computer, but since his hotmail account wasnt working, he can claim he didn’t get the email from them. Ahh- very clever… Well, maybe not too clever, as he said he only has a 3.0 GPA and doesn’t qualify for membership in some magnacumlaude organization that he was invited to join (in another of the threads he started). Ahhh— very entertaining…

No character flaw here. Thanks for trying though.

This is not an experiment and I am not trying to waste anybody’s time. I got mixed reactions on the college life board, but a consensus on this board.

Thank you for all of your time.

I did e-mail the company back that I received the computer. Let’s see if I get a response from them.

football100, you did the right thing when you emailed the company that you received the computer! This is a major step in the right direction, and I believe that everyone else who has posted on this thread is glad to hear of it.

In your email to the company, did you explain that the charge to your credit card had been reversed, when you didn’t receive the computer earlier?

since many emails that verify shipment are not emails that are responded to, as is stated in the email at the bottom where it says " do not reply to this email " ) - I suggest calling the company. If you get on voice mail- either do not hit any buttons or repeatedly press “O” for operator.

The e-mail address address that I sent to is a working address.
