Hey guys,
If this post is not allowed feel free to delete but I wanted to ask the more experienced members of CC which card they might be able to recommend me.
I currently have a Delta American Express but they said under no circumstances will they waive the 95$ annual fee and I will not spend enough money to justify that sort of yearly expenditure. I’m looking for a 0 annual fee card, and I currently have an 803 FICO score. I could just apply for a Bank of America Cashback or travel rewards visa, but it would be cool to apply to another airline card that gets me a big miles bonus up front, because I could probably put a bunch of money in moving costs on it.
Any advice helps, thanks!
Most airlines will NOT waive their annual fees because they feel they are providing benefits with their cards–free first bag of checked luggage, miles, etc. What airlines do you fly? You may wish to check the cards affiliated with that airlines. The other option is Chase Sapphire Preferred or similar. I really like the card because it allows the cardholder to convert it to whatever type of points or miles they want, which can be quite useful. Our D often uses the points for last minute air travel, since that tends to be cheaper than paying cash for last minute flights. It does also have a $95 annual fee that I haven’t been able to get waived. I did get 70,000 bonus points for spending $3000 in the first 90 days after getting the card over a year ago. I have no idea what the current bonus offers are.
I fly whatever is cheaper generally, but lately it has been Southwest a lot. I’m 6 feet tall so I prefer average or above legroom. Delta is 31 inches so I think nothing less than that. No United or Spirit or other budget airlines, but I could do Virgin/American/Southwest/Jetblue
Well…maybe get a southwest credit card. You will get enough points when you sign on to pay for a plane ticket someplace…which will cover your annual fee.
It’s unlikely they will waive the fee for you…so look at what you will gain.
Fat wallet and flyertalk generally discuss the current offerings on CCards. Do your research and double-check currents costs and benefits and make your choice.
