My DH was in an uber car with an associate and the associate paid the driver by his taking a photo of the credit card. I am interested in this product for a second business of mine (I have a cr card machine in the office but this would be better for the second venture). Has anyone used this? Recommendations? Cost? Best deals out there? Thanks1
I don’t think I’d particularly want someone taking a photo of my cc and would probably pay cash instead, which nay be what the driver wanted as well.
Jym, why would you not want a Square? It is just as easy to swipe the card as take a pic of it.
There has been concern about privacy/confidentiality with emails and such with square. I like the idea of no gizmo to attach to my phone-- just a photo the way I can take a photo of a check and deposit it.
One is flint. Another is card.io. Any others?? Any experience?
Just looked into updating my paypal but I dont want to link my checking account, so getting paid is a pain. Has ANYONE used this new credit card payment option that takes a photo of the card and doesnt require a little gizmo ?
There is 0 security with a photo of a card. It can be reused.
Apparently the app masks the center #s of the card on the screen. Not a security issue.
I wouldn’t be comfortable having someone take a photo of my credit card, for what it’s worth.
^^ What Himom said.
Maybe I’m misunderstanding OP, but I thought that with using Uber, in order to have car come, a credit card had to be on file and was just billed to that card. (and the few times I’ve been with goskid 1 in Uber car, I don’t ever recall a cc being pulled out).
Dunno, gosmom. Just relaying a story DH shared
Uber itself charges you. You don’t pay the driver. You have an account set up online with a card.
Have heard good things from someone who uses Flint
