<p>Criminal history will be asked about on the common application and he must answer truthfully and explain the circumstances. It will be up to each college or university he applies to to determine if the conviction disqualifies him from admission.</p>
<p>If he has been in prison since 2007 it indicates the offense was pretty serious which would make things much more difficult than if it was a brief incarceration in the county jail and has been working for the past six years with a clean record.</p>
