<p>Hello. For some critical reading questions that ask “The primary purpose of lines 12-14 show…” or something like, does the question ONLY refer to lines 12-14 or both above and below lines 12-14? Some people tell me to read above and below the lines when asked that question, but wouldn’t that only mess me up because it says lines 12-14 only / exclusively? Thanks.</p>
<p>You need to read before and after because that’s where you’ll find the ideas those lines support or rebut (or expand upon, or complicate, or correct, or whatever the relationship is in the right answer!).</p>
