cross country & track

what times for a girl in cross country and track would help get into colleges like BC and BU? with a gpa of about 3.6

A girl from our area is a freshman at BC on the track team. She ran a 10:35 3200m last year as a senior. I think what you’ll find at a school like BC (scholarship school) is that the track coach won’t be overly concerned with your GPA as long as you can score points in meets and meet NCAA eligibility requirements, of course.

Your 3.6 GPA is really good, and depending on test scores, ECs, etc, you could be admitted on your academics, but unless your a top tier runner I wouldn’t count on your sport giving you much of a boost.

Look at the teams’ track websites to see what kind of times are scoring points. That should give you a pretty good idea as to whether the coach would be interested.
