Cross registration at CMU/Duquesne/Chatham/etc

I read in a Pitt pamphlet that you can cross register at several other colleges in the Pitt area while at the school, and would be interested in attending a class at Carnegie Mellon if I had the chance. I was just wondering how it exactly works and if anyone has had any experience cross registering at schools while at Pitt.

All you have to do is get a schedule of classes from CMU, find the class that you want to take, and tell your advisor when you register for classes. You can only take one class per semester at another college.

Thanks for your help. I am strongly considering Pitt and the cross registration with Carnegie Mellon helps. Thanks for clearing all that up.

Pitt and CMU work very closely together in many areas. People joke that eventually they’re just going to merge into one school.

Doesn’t the class have to be something that Pitt doesn’t offer? Can it just be a scheduling issue?

I think the policy is pretty lenient. I believe as long as Pitt doesn’t have the same exact class at the same exact time, you can take it somwhere else.
