this year they received approximately 50 apps for the following
Evolution
Genome Revolution
Exploring the Mind
Power of Ideas

and they could only take 30 so lots of people got placed into their alternate choice
The students who want to get in to those programs can call and be put on a waiting list.

The following are still open

Global Americas
Changing Faces of Russia
Arts in Contemporary Society

I chose Changing Faces of Russia

oh and another bonus is that FOCUS participants get to select their one other course earlier than everyone else on June 6th.

The person also told me that when they had done statistical analysis on FOCUS participants, they had better GPA’s and grad school placement than the general student body

do you think that if they put us in one FOCUS, we can switch into another one? For example, I was put into the Forging social ideals one, which wasn’t one of my choices, and I might be interested in doing the arts one. any chance i might be able to switch into that one?

EDIT: ok, yes I am stupid and have realized that I just asked about the scenario which you just described. Moving on… did you call or email them?

Hey seahorse! I was accepted into Arts in Contemporary Society. I love dance, theatre, and art history. I think you should sign up for the FOCUS so that we artistic minds can stick together!
