CS 61A will be in Pauley Ballroom in fall 2016

According to the fall 2016 schedule, CS 61A will be in Pauley Ballroom in fall 2016.

Capacity of the lecture is listed in the schedule at 1,548. There are 43 labs of 32 to 36 each.

http://eventservices.berkeley.edu/index.php/venues/pauley-ballroom says that the lecture capacity of the full ballroom is nominally 900.

@ucbalumnus But that is only the lectures, what about labs and tutorials ? both labs and tutorials combined together would be longer than lectures. Also, lectures can be viewed online while labs and tutorials cannot be viewed online.

43 x 36 = 1548 so if the class is filled to capacity of 1548, each lab section will have 36 students. Are lab sections always held in Soda Hall?

Since the class will be in Pauley Ballroom, it seems they can only setup regular chairs (i.e. no flip out notebook sized working surface for student to write notes). Does CS 61A lecture distribute printed handouts for the lecture slides before the class starts or students need to write down notes from the projected screen?

I can imagine the projector screen(s) they setup in Pauley Ballroom will not be as big as the one in Wheeler Hall. Is it going to be a problem for students sitting in the back not able to see clearly what’s written on the projector screen?

CS 61A in recent years has put various class materials up on http://cs61a.org .

The on-line schedule lists all labs in various rooms in Soda.
