CS major admissions factors?

I was wondering what most colleges look at if you are planning to major in CS or any IT major. Is it mainly based off SAT, ACT and other standardized test scores? Would having a strong high school curriculum with a lot of AP classes and other IT related course like AP CS, web design, software design, etc? What about extra-curricular activities and work experience like being part of IT related clubs, or having worked an IT internship at a respectable company? Also any other parts of the admission process that I might be missing. Specifically though, what are some of the more prestigious colleges around the country like CAL, Stanford, etc. looking for?
