I’m a current undergrad at Stanford majoring in CS, and I’m really not enjoying my time at Stanford so far. I wish I had gone to Princeton for undergrad instead. Since Princeton doesn’t offer a transfer program for undergrad, I’m thinking about doing my Masters there instead of at Stanford. Is anyone able to talk about the difference between getting my Masters in CS at Princeton vs. a CS coterm at Stanford? I have very strong grades, so I have confidence that I can be be admitted to Princeton.
I’d strongly prefer to go to Princeton, but from my initial research, it seems like Stanford is a much better deal. It looks like I could do the degree in just 3-4 quarters at Stanford plus if I am a TA for a class, I wouldn’t need to pay for tuition.
At Princeton, I would have to do the degree in 4 semesters (according to their site), which is 2 years rather than about 1 or 1.3 years. Also, I’m not sure how Princeton handles letting Masters students be TAs. Is anyone able to speak to this? Why does the degree take so much longer at Princeton and are there any opportunities to be a TA?
