I have heard that this is an easy A&H class that is an easy A. I have been reading the syllabus and such and not convinced that this is so “easy” he has terrible ratings on ratemyproff and is this essentially computer science? because I took computer science (java) in high school and thought it was impossible and hated it, so is this along the same lines of what i took in high school. So what i wanna know is why is this an easy A supposedly, and if it has any correlation to computer science,i have basic computer skills if that tells you guys anything.

55% of the students who completed A110 in Fall 2010 got an A or an A+ in the class. Does that sound easy enough? Not only is the class easy, the content is very similar to K201, so taking A110 in the Fall and K201 in the Spring semester will help you get a better grade in K201. Also, A110 is very easy N&M credit to apply to the distribution option. It is a computer science class, but very a very easy one-- absolutely no programing. You basically learn some very basic Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and some basic html. Stuff that will be useful all through college and after. Here is the syllabus.

People usually drop the class for one of two reasons: 1) it is time consuming because of the labs and 2) a lot of freshmen who don’t really belong in college take it and drop it. If you dig in and do the work you will get an A, and be much more prepared for K201 than people who don’t take it. But you MUST take A110 before you take K201 in order to have both classes apply to the Kelley degree. If you take K201 in the Fall, then forget about taking A110 later because it won’t meet any Kelley requirements if you take K201 first.

Here is the Fall 2010 grading:
[Bloomington Campus Grade Distribution Report](http://registrar.indiana.edu/gradedist/4108_report2a.html#BL-CSCI)

In general, don’t trust the ratemyprofessor reviews for professors’ freshman level classes. The freshman that go to ratemyprofessor are often not very good students and just venting.

I took the class to get an N&M credit but dropped it end of 2nd week because it was so boring. I picked up another N&M class which was much better for me.

what if I take k210 and A110 at the same time? would that work?

CSCI is and N&M class, not A&H.

I would take A110 first semester, and K201 second semester, so that A110 helps you with the content of K201.

I can’t find the rule about not being allowed to take K201 first in order to get Kelley credit for both classes in the latest bulletin. The spring 2011 schedule of classes had:

BUS-K 201 THE COMPUTER IN BUSINESS (3 CR)
6292 09:05A-09:55A MW BU 407 Telthorst G 30 2 2
Credit not given for both BUS-K 201 and (CSCI-A 110 or SPEA-V
261)
++No alternative Final Exam options will be considered
++Consult Final Examination Schedule to avoid conflicts

scheduled anytime between the hours of 11am and 11pm. First

I would ask a Kelley advisor about it.
