Out of all the CSE clusters required for CS majors:

Artificial Intelligence Cluster (Required CSE 150 and CSE 151, choose one course from this list: CSE 152 or CSE 166)
Bioinformatics Cluster (Required CSE 181, CSE 182, BENG 183, and Math 186)
Computer Vision Cluster (Required CSE 150 and CSE 166, choose one course from this list: CSE 155 or CSE 190)
Networked Systems Cluster (Required CSE 121, CSE 123, and CSE 124)
Security and Cryptography Cluster (Required CSE 107, CSE 127, choose 2 courses from this list: CSE 121, CSE 123, CSE 124, CSE 135)
Software Engineering Cluster (Required CSE 111 or CSE 112, choose 3 courses from this list: CSE 111, CSE 112, CSE 118, CSE 125, CSE 128, CSE 132A, CSE 135, CSE 136)

which ones are the most useful? I was thinking of doing software engineering. but are the other ones useful as well? And can we take more than 1 cluster?

You take a cluster + technical electives for a total of 9 upper division CS electives to fulfill the requirements if I’m not mistaken. Since a cluster is 3-5 classes, it’s possible to do multiple clusters.

In the long run the cluster doesn’t really have the same weight as saying I minored in something, but it does give you the opportunity to specialize in something. Once you take more classes you’ll figure out what your likes/dislikes are as well as what you’re good at doing.
