<p>Hi Parents Cafe. I’m going to college this fall and plan to go abroad for an internship this summer. I’d like to purchase insurance from CSI in April so I can insurance my high-end laptop (and other items) during my time abroad and my 1st year of college. </p>
<p>Can I purchase a CSI policy given that I’m an incoming freshman rather than a current college student?</p>
<p>According to the FAQ’s on the CSI website, you can start the policy whenever you want, just make sure to renew it each year. Your things will be covered for damage or loss everywhere in the world however the liability coverage is only good while you are living at school. Liability coverage covers damage you may do to someone else’s computer, etc.</p>
<p>You should also look at NSSI which is a similar product. We have used it for years and are very happy with their service.</p>
<p>There are several threads here on CC talking about both of these companies, and it seems people are very happy with both.</p>
