<p>I received a letter from Lead America inviting me to participate in a CSLC Program (Congressional Student Leadership Confrence).
I wanted to know if this is some sort of scam or it will help my future prospects.</p>

are you going more for an experience or just for the prestige factor?</p>
<p>I doubt it will boost your chances by a great amount. Tons of people receive letters from such programs every year, so it’s not such a prestigious honor. But if you’re genuinely interested, go for it.</p>
<p>While it’s not a scam, it does cost a whole lot, and won’t really add anything to an application. Personally, money prevented me from going, but it looks interesting, and attendees I know liked it.</p>
