Hi there, I’m an international applying for Fall 2025, and I have a question about the institutional aid process. I’m aware that 1-3 after submitting my CSS Profile, I’ll need to submit iDOC to schools that require it. However, I’m unsure whether I can use bank statements as proof, or if I need strictly tax documents. It is a bit of a hassle to get tax documents in my mother’s case because of the auditor not being available for months now.

If I can indeed use bank statements in my iDOC, would anyone happen to know how many months’ bank statements I’d need to produce?

Each school requests different things. The IDOC will tell you what you need for that school.

It’s to ‘validate’ what you are telling them. Otherwise some would falsely report in hopes of getting more.

If the school asks for something that you can’t deliver, then you can contact the aid office to find out what you can do to satisfy them.
