CSS + Double Majoring?

Hey y’all,
I’m really interested in the CSS at Wesleyan (it’s just such a cool concept!!), but I want to double major in the CSS and Psychology. I know that the CSS is supposed to be a very intensive major, so I was wondering if anyone could maybe shed some light on the feasibility of double majoring with it (and anything, really- but if you happened to know something specific about Psych, that would be super awesome)?
Thank you so much.

sorry…bump?

sorry, again, bump

CSS is specifically designed for you to not double major. CSS is a RIGOUROUS program. Not everyone who wants to be in that major/program get accepted. You have to have decided by sophomore fall semester if you want that major. If you really want to major in CSS, definitely take ECON 101 fall semester of your freshmen year bc it’s one of the prerequisites for the major.

Actually, you can double major with CSS, and a few people do it every year. The drawback is that you will have almost no freedom to take classes outside your two majors, and will probably be unable to study abroad. Assuming you have more diverse interests than just these two areas, it probably makes more sense in your case to be a CSS major and take psychology classes on the side (since you can’t take CSS classes unless you are a major). The actual transcript notation of being a “double-major” is thoroughly overrated, in my opinion; you can still take all the psychology classes you’d like without losing your academic freedom.

Also, you have to apply to CSS earlier than sophomore fall…applications are due around February or March of your frosh year. If you get in, you have to commit to the program by that May.
