Hi guys, I am filling this part of the CSS “Current amount in cash, savings, checking, and deposit accounts”
I have no idea that the current amount includes the “cash in hand” or just money in the bank? Sorry for my lack of knowledge
Include both cash in hand and balance of any bank accounts.
but I think they will need to submit bank statement to the IDOC if we state this?
Pull up your balances and print the bank sheet. Add the money in your possession.
ALL asset monies must be listed. It doesn’t matter if they are under your mattress or in a bank account.
You are REQUIRED to list money in any accounts anyplace…plus any money in hand. This does not include the $20 your parents might have in their wallets for grocery shopping, or to put gas in their cars. But if they have withdrawn money from a bank account thinking it won’t matter for financial aid purposes…they are wrong…it counts.
It doesn’t matter if the money doesn’t match bank statements. You could have $5k in your home safe and you have to report it. Many people keep a large amount of cash on hand for emergencies. I do.
