I submitted my css profile by the deadlines complete with my non-custodial parent waiver. I used the form provided by college board for the waiver and submitted it through IDOC. When I look at my financial aid checklists for universities such as Northeastern and Brandeis it says “non-custodial profile awaiting.” Will they waive the requirement for my non-custodial profile before the decision date? Is it ok if the non custodial profile box is not checked off or do I need to send individual emails or forms to each college? When I look up each college I applied to for information, it doesn’t specify if I have to submit a specific waiver provided by them or if the one I submitted through IDOC is enough. Please let me know what I need to do because I’m very confused! Thanks.
You should contact each college…and ask them.
Yeah I thought so. Was hoping just submitting the waiver through IDOC was enough but it looks like I have to email 17 colleges to make sure lol.
Do all of your colleges even participate in IDOC…some do and some don’t.
We had the same message for Northeastern and some other CSS Profile accepting schools. Despite the IDOC supporting documents being submitted back in October, it turned out that the Non-Custodial Profile (NCP) form was apparently not “completed”. At Northeastern’s suggestion, we contacted the College Board and were advised that the NCP form had not been fully completed and that NCP parent needed to complete all the questions. There was no communication from the College Board to advise there was an issue. Meanwhile Northeastern has not been able to finalize a financial aid package because they never received the NCP form from the College Board. You may want to contact the College Board next week.
For the few that don’t participate in IDOC, I submitted the forms through their websites.
Thanks! Are you talking about the waiver form? Or the actual non-custodial form?
I was speaking of the actual non-custodial profile form. I know each of the schools have their own waiver forms which may require a more detailed response than the form provided on IDOC. In that case, contacting the school would be the best option. Apologies if I misunderstood the your original post.
