CSS Profile: (Possibly) Tax Related Question

<p>To all the helpful members out there, hi!</p>

<p>I am an international student applying for fall 2011 entry and I have not been able to get an answer for this anywhere. Basically we do not have a tax system in our country so we do not file taxes. However, according to law, all citizens and laws are bound by the regulations of the religion of the country and we are required to pay the poor man’s tax aka zakat. So, on the CSS profile, would that come under the taxes or elsewhere?</p>

<p>Since this is very unfamiliar to most US citizens, I would think your best chances for an answer is to contact the College Board who runs the CSS profile, and ask them your question. Either that, or, do you know any other people from your country who have filled out the Profile? You could ask them what they did. I hope you are able to find an answer soon.</p>
