CSS Profile Questions about Housing

I had a few questions about the “Provide the following information about the student’s parents’ home”:

First, my dad owes my aunt money for our home. She lent us money so we could pay off our home in order to avoid having to pay interest on a mortgage. Under “Amount owed on home,” should I write that we owe $0 (since we don’t owe money to a bank/mortgage), or should I write how much my father owes my aunt?

Second, does “monthly housing payment” include payments for home insurance, or is that only payments on a mortgage? Similarly to the first question, would I fill in $0 for this or fill in how much my dad pays to my Aunt?

Finally, for amount owed on primary mortgage of home, would we put $0 or the money my dad owes my Aunt?

Thanks in advance for all of the help!

You should include how much your father owes your aunt - if, as I presume, she would have a claim on the property should your father stop making payments to her. Presumably they signed documents and came to an agreement on a repayment schedule, and are able to determine how much he still owes her - that should be reported on amount owed.

Monthly housing payments include the cost of mortgage payments (including what he pays your aunt) as well as taxes, insurance, association fees, etc.

@3puppies My aunt didn’t make him sign any papers because she trusts him and they’re family. By insurance you mean home insurance, correct?
